Hardware Grading

In some circumstances items can be supplied that have been previously used, this will be clearly outlined in the product descriptions.

Our products are sourced in good working order; so when we say refurbished we do not mean it was broken and we fixed it! Most of our equipement is taken from a desk in a large corporate or public sector department before being refurbished. Some of our items are sourced from our manufacturer or retail partners. No matter where we source our goods from we have a strict grading policy which is detailed below. We believe in being more open and honest with you, the customer, about our products. We get regular feedback from our customers with how much better condition their products were than they thought they would be!

Our grading structure spans from "Great", our highest second-user grade, down to "Functional",our lowest second user grade (whereby the unit works but carries a major cosmetic defect).

Please see the "Jargon Buster" below for terms with notes.

Jargon Buster!

1) "Wear and tear" is 'reasonable' use i.e. may have feint marks on the casing
2) "Scratch": a line/mark that is visible when looked at close up
3) "Scuff": a mark upto about the size of a thumb print
4) Some of products come from corporate companies where they are security marked; as this product has been managed out of their inventory this isn't an issue but it does affect the lookin of the machine. These light marks are bearly visible on this grade.

5) Your laptop has thousands of tiny "pixels" or dots; sometimes these die and turn black
6) When you use a keyboard you gradually wear some of the keys on the keyboard; in this case they are slightly worn
7) Where a security mark is large or noticeable it is deemed to be indelibly marked - again this doesn't effect the machine's use
8) Depending on the laptop there will be one or two latches on the lid which keeps it closed.
